Diane is a Literacy teacher at Averill Elementary School and Gardner Middle School. She has more than twenty years of teaching, ten of which in the Lansing School district.

Diane is a member of the International & Michigan Reading Associations, Capital Area Reading Council, LSEA Board of Directors, LSEA Liaison to the Elections Committee, and Region 8, MEA and NEA delegate. She was a founding director of Ele's Place and outside of school is active in her family's charitable foundation.
